The Department of English at the University of Saskatchewan invites applications for a PhD research fellowship on Sustainably Don(n)e: Responsible Development of Digital Resources Digital Resources in Literary Studies. Applicants to the PhD program should propose a PhD thesis related to some aspect of this project. Possible topics include, but are not restricted to:
· John Donne and adjacent authors and topics
· Literature and culture in early modern manuscript miscellany collections
· Implementations of digital tools and methods in literary research
· Digital humanities and scholarly editing/archival collections
· The implications of emerging and changing infrastructure on humanities research
The successful candidate will be part of a team of Canadian and International scholars and will work locally with a support team in the Digital Research Centre in the USask Library. They will also be part of the INKE: Implementing New Knowledge Environments partnership (inke.ca).
The level of funding will depend on the quality of the candidate’s application and will include funding for travel to and participation in conferences and digital humanities workshops. Facility with Latin and advanced skills in computing will be particularly valuable, but not essential.
